Boston and Hartford. She also received several journalism awards for her investigative documentaries in both markets on topics ranging from family violence to illiteracy. In 1990, she relocated to New York City where, for the next four years, she worked as a field producer on several nationally syndicated and cable series including Preview: The Best of the New, Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous, Home Videos of the Stars, The Great American TV Poll and American Journal.

In 1994, she was named the first News Director for VH1 where she restructured the channel's production department and tripled its short form programming. She was instrumental in developing the channel's daily newsroom structure, themed day-parts and new series. She also served as Executive Producer on the Last Word, a weekly entertainment news program, and Supervising Producer on Stand-Up Spotlight, originally developed by Rosie O'Donnell.

After leaving VH1, Marcia worked as an independent producer/director, producing two, half hour specials for the Emmy Award winning show, In The Mix, a weekly issue oriented series for teens on PBS. She then traveled the county to direct a multitude of episodes of Dream Living, Great Country Inns and How'd They Do That? for The Learning Channel. She also contributed annually to Nickelodeon's live productions of The Big Help and The Kids Choice Awards. Between television projects, Marcia co-created the all-female sketch comedy troupe, Significant Others, a cutting edge group that headlined at some of New York City's top comedy clubs.

In 1997, Marcia formed Picture This Television with producer/writer Bryan Scott and since that time, they have won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Direction and for Outstanding Educational Series for TV411, their flagship adult educational series for PBS. Marcia is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NY Chapter) and the Producers Guild of America.

In 2004, Marcia was awarded Distinguished Alumni by her alma mater, Buffalo State College, and gave the keynote address to the graduating master's class.
