We
like to think that we're a couple of big kids ourselves. So when we got
the call from Nickelodeon, we wrestled for the phone, chased each other
around the room and had a 'time out' before we were allowed to continue.
Once we settled down, our 'turn curriculum into television' skills were
an easy match for Nickelodeon for producing the in-school video programs
for two seasons of their 'Big Help,' in-school initiative campaigns. We
wove the themes of 'Kids and Volunteers' (season one) and 'Kids and Parks'
(season two) and curriculum throughout each program -- wrote the scripts,
cast the kids, shot new footage, commissioned animation and combined it
with existing footage to tell the story and hit the lesson points in an
entertaining and engaging way that was both proactive and results oriented.
