While
it's everyone's favorite joke to compare what anti depressant or anti
anxiety medicine they're on, it's no joke that millions of people are
being helped by modern medicine once they recognize the symptoms of their
illness. Given that information we produced three, docu-style informational
programs outlining the challenges of various panic disorders and their
treatments for the Freedom From Fear Foundation. We produced on version
aimed at adults, another aimed at the college population and yet another
in Spanish. Using actors and testimonials combined with reenactments and
real-life situations, these informational programs received Intercom's
1999 Golden Hugo Award for Best Healthcare program. Hosted by television
personality Marc Sumers, who openly discusses his own Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder, the programs have been used in schools, hospitals and related
facilities across the nation.
IN FOOD TODAY and CHOCOLATE WITH JACQUES TORRES
How can you resist eating in America's top diners, experiencing the harvest
in Napa Valley and indulging in chocolate? We couldn't -- that's why we
thoroughly enjoyed producing a collection of taped segments for these
two series on Food Network.
DISNEY TEACHER AWARDS
Near and dear to our hearts (both of our fathers were teachers,) we were
honored to produce compelling profiles of the nominated teachers for this
prime time award show airing on Lifetime Television.
SOAPCENTER
Can't keep your evil twin, brought-back-from-the-dead to reek more havoc
on this sleepy little town sister from having an affair with your brother's
wife's step-nephew? Neither could we. That's why we created and produced
an original entertainment magazine show pilot for Disney's cable network,
SoapNet.
TIP THE SCALES
Health, nutrition, exercise and dieting -- how much fun is that? Lots
when you let us spin it into a game show. The result was Tip the Scales,
the only game show were you win by losing. . .calories that is! We created
and produced this original game show pilot for Lifetime Television.
CAKEBREAD CELLARS: A FAMILY HISTORY
There's a story behind every family as well as every bottle of wine. Telling
the tale behind the label promoted us to produce a biography style program
about two high school sweethearts who created one of Napa Valley's most
outstanding wineries, Cakebread Cellars. It's a loving look at a dream
that became a reality and a toast to those who stomped before us so the
rest of us could drink! Cheers!
CARING FOR PEOPLE WITH VISION LOSS AT HOME
Once again, we were called upon to work our 'curriculum into TV magic,'
this time by creating and producing an instructional video that teaches
care-takers how to work with their blind clients. We cast blind actors,
scripted and shot real-life scenarios that illustrated a variety of tasks
and situations that come up daily for home health care workers. Commissioned
and distributed by the Jewish Guild for the Blind.
ICD
What happens when the nation's steel mills start shutting down their plants?
Thousands of workers are displaced with limited skills and can no longer
make a living and support their families. Because of our experience through
TV411 in working with the adult learning population, we were commissioned
to produce this inspirational and informational video for America's steelworkers
seeking to re-educate themselves and re-enter the work force with pride.
