We really got 'intimate' for our production of this one hour, Intimate Portrait: Jennie Garth, the actress best known for her role as 'Kelly Taylor' on the long running series, Beverly Hills 90210. That's because we got Jennie to give us never-before-seen home movies of her as a gooney teenager, along with video tapes of her very first acting classes when she was only 14! In addition to her 'tell all' sit down interview, we also got some original intimate moments from Jennie when we followed her with a DV camera for the day on her Santa Barbara ranch. To get that special, 'behind your back' intimate feeling, we sat down and talked to her former co-stars, Jason Priestly, Tori Spelling and Tiffani Thiessen and had them share their memories of Jennie and her life, both on and off the set. We interviewed legendary producer Aaron Spelling and Jennie's very first TV Mom, Barbara Eden, to get their take on the real Jennie Garth. Is she a big city vixen who constantly fought with 90210 co-star, Shannen Doherty? Or is she still the small town girl from the Midwest who cherishes her family above everything else? After working for 10 straight years on Beverly Hills 90210, we get Jennie to reveal her true feelings about life behind the scenes of this hit TV show and what it's like to be nearly stampeded by 8000 fans at a shopping mall. Amidst all of this and more, Jennie demonstrates how she's stayed close to her roots and kept her values in tact. Our production of Intimate Portrait: Jennie Garth aired January 21st, 2002 and received a 1.1 rating. Big numbers for a Portrait and Lifetime maintained it's number one ranking that night.
